Join Renata MahaJyoti for these special classes. We'll follow with many variations on Surya Namaskar, working with the whole body through a balanced practice. We will challenge your focus and attention within, making sure your breath always guides you. Start your weekend off right! These classes are for all levels of students. Remember to follow the needs of your body, not the desires of your mind. Poses are taught step by step, and you are welcome to stop at any point. The most important thing is the balance between strength and flexibility, the flow of the breath, and the stillness of the mind. - Class # 1 Traditional Hatha Class structure, with Mantras, Neetra Vyayamam, Asanas, Pranayama, and yoga nidra. In the asana portion, dive into Sun Salutations with variations, moon salutations, challenging balance poses, and poses to help you develop core awareness and strengthen the core. All poses are demonstrated step by step, and detailed verbal instructions and options are provided for different level students. Class # 2—This class will work on poses to help us feel our joint mobility and core strength. We will dive into challenging poses, but step by step, you will have the opportunity to work on your mobility at your own pace. With step-by-step demonstrations and detailed verbal instructions, you will develop more body awareness and comfort. This is a complete Hatha Class following the Sonia Sumar Method, so we will also have chanting, eye exercises, deep relaxation, and breathing. Class #3—Most of us want to advance in our hatha yoga journey, but many mistake going deep into practice by doing advanced, more elaborate poses. But you can also dive deep into simple poses, working slowly, feeling the body, and keeping the mind present. This is the goal of this class. This is a complete hatha class following the Sonia Sumar Method, so we will also have chanting, eye exercises, deep relaxation, and breathing. Class #4 - Revisiting our Hip - internal and external rotations. This is a complete Hatha Class following the Sonia Sumar Method, so we will also have chanting, eye exercises, deep relaxation, and breathing. Class #5—Putting it all together On the asana portion, we will work on sun salutation, variations, and poses with closed and open hips positions, focusing on hips and spine alignment. We have a balanced routine working on forward and back bends, lateral bending, and spinal twists. As we move into more challenging poses, the awareness of the alignment of the hips and vertebrae column will help us move into the positions with awareness and follow the body's needs. This is a complete Hatha Class following the Sonia Sumar Method, so we will also have chanting, eye exercises, deep relaxation, and breathing.
